Manukan Island

Manukan Island (Pulau Manukan) is the second largest island in the Tunku Abdul Rahman National Park, Malaysia's first marine national park in Sabah.


Manukan Island is the most popular island among tourists. Manukan Island has some good stretches of beaches on the southern coastline. The best beach is on the eastern tip of the island. Sea water of Manukan Island is very clean and clear. We can see fishes and coral reefs from the surface of sea water. Offshore of Manukan Island are coral reefs, which is suit for activities like snorkeling, diving, swimming and feeding fish with bread.

Among the 5 islands making up Tunku Abdul Rahman National Park, which are Gaya Island, Sapi Island, Manukan Island, Mamutik Island and Sulug Island. Manukan Island is the most developed tourist facilities that includes 20 units of chalets, a clubhouse, and few restaurants and a diving centre. Recreation facilities include a swimming pool, football field, Volleyball and Sepak Takraw courts. This attracts many tourists from other state to come to Manukan Island.
